In a couple of weeks, Mesa’s Downtown will be decked out for the holidays and kicking off its Merry Main Street festivities with a special celebration.
The city will have the annual Holiday Tree. This year the tree will be nearly four-stories tall, and visitors will be able to ‘ooh’ and ‘ah’ at it on MacDonald Street. After seeing the tree, people can stroll down through Santa’s Market Place, do a little holiday shopping, and pause for some photos at any of the festive backdrops. Photos taken on opening day could then be turned into this year’s Holiday Cards.
The Winter Wonderland Ice Rink will open for the season too. This is a 4,000 sq. ft. ice rink right in downtown Mesa. The rink will be open for 40 days, during which skaters will be able to enjoy the weather, skate under the stars, and hear Christmas music. There will be performances at the rink throughout the season.
Jack Frost’s Food Forest will be full of food trucks to keep everyone warm with hot beverages and holiday goodies, while the Mesa Arts Center will begin its holiday schedule of performances on both its indoor theaters and outdoor Alliance Pavilion Stage.
Activities for Mesa’s Merry Main Street will start November 25 in downtown Mesa. Most of them will begin at 5:00 pm and continue until January 1.
