Mesa will be the location of the Arizona Celebration of Freedom, which will celebrate Independence Day. This will be the third year for this free event.
This year’s activities will include patriotic displays, live music, family fun and a naturalization ceremony. ‘WE Make History’ will be presenting Revolutionary War reenactments. Arizona’s fallen soldiers will be remembered with a Fallen Heroes Memorial. America’s Heritage Lane will be a walk through national figures and monument that represent American history and freedom. Independence Hall will have exhibits and a presentation, and there will also be The America’s Arts and Culture Showcase and an Uncle Sam’s Safety Zone.
The live entertainment will be presented on two stages: the Stars and Stripes Stage and the Main Stage. Some bands on the Main Stage will be Zona Road, Georgia Chrome, the 108th Army band, and a Salute to America program. The Stars and Stripes stage will feature Rock Lobster and B-Platinum. These groups may have Promotional Products for sale.
The Yankee Doodle Kids’ Zone will have a free carnival, inflatables, and games. A Celebration Splash Zone will have soak zones, inflatables, and a water-spraying fire truck.
The fun will be July 4 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Mesa Amphitheatre/Mesa Convention Center Complex at 263 N. Center Street. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:45 pm.
