Mesa shares its stories

All those who love a good story are invited to the annual KJZZ Arizona Storyfest coming in early June.

Although admission to the fest is free, there will be a $10 charge for attending the Main Storytellers Stage performances. There, the performers will be trained storytellers and the emcees will be Arizona Storytellers Project’s Megan Finnerty and the Storytelling Institute from South Mountain Community College ‘s Travis May. Performances will run from noon until 4:00 pm.

The Children’s Stage will have little ones spellbound with interactive and creative stories and crafts. Activities in this area will be from 10:30 am until 4:00 pm.

Over 60 talented authors from all over Arizona will be available for book signings and meeting and greeting attendees from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. Guests can purchase the Books onsite. From 11:00 am until 3:30 pm, the authors will be reading their Books on stage. There will also be an Author’s Workshop presented by ASU Virginia G. Piper Center For Creative Writing.

An Arizona Expo will feature information about travelling in the state. Over 20 exhibitors will have tables laden with Flyers, pamphlets, Business Cards and a few may offer Promotional Products. Some of the exhibitors will be AAA Arizona, East Valley Children’s Theatre, Lowell Observatory, Musical Instrument Museum and Verde Canyon Railroad.

The Arizona Story Fest will be Saturday, June 1 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Mesa Convention Center-Building C, 201 North Center Street.
