Mesa runners have running options for late summer

At least two races are scheduled for August in the Mesa area.

The 7th annual Arizona Sunrise Series 2020 will have the sixth leg of its 5k race series, August 15th.

Proceeds will go to St. Mary’s Food Bank. Participants that take part in at least four of the seven races in the series will get a chance to win $500 gift cards and other prizes. The onsite component will be at Kiwanis Park, and registration is limited to 400 runners.

Swag includes a custom series medal and add-ons for each completed race, event graphic design on racerback tank tops, short sleeve shirts or sleeveless shirts options, before and after race “Runner’s Brunch” and photos.

The virtual option also includes the red race shirt and medal and emails will be sent with instructions.

This untimed Run Soaked 5k will be a watery experience as sprinklers, a water truck, slip-and-slides and volunteers with water guns will be keeping runners cool along the 5k course. Participants are invited to take part in all the water-soaked activities along the way.

Swag will include race shirts featuring the event graphic design, refreshments at the finish line and commemorative finisher towels.

Late registration and packet pick-up will begin at 6:30 am and the Run Soaked begins at 7:30 am.

Run Soaked 5k will take place August 22nd at Kiwanis Park Recreation Center, 6111 S All America Way, Tempe.
