Mesa readies for fall

Fall will be well underway next month, and Mesa is getting ready.

Vertuccio Farms, 4011 S. Power Road, is getting its annual Fall Festival ready to open on Monday, September 30. Activities will include mini-golf, zip line, duck races, a mini hay maze and a five-acre corn maze. There will also be a spider web climb, pumpkin bowling, and a pallet maze. Pumpkins will be available for purchase. The festival will take place every day after, until November 3rd.

Halloweencon will be at the Mesa Convention Center on October 12th. The venue’s theater will feature Munsters TV, Halloween, and a Q&A with special guests (Scott Taylor-Compton from Halloween I and II, American Werewolf in London’s David Naughton, and the Munsters’ Eddie, Butch Patrick). The haunted escape room takes place in the Cholla rooms.

The Palo Verde Ballroom will have Trick or Treating, Halloween – themed vendors, costume contest, a Zombie walk and a Halloween party. The winner of the $300 prize for best costume may wish to get some pictures taken to one of our local Print shops for duplicates to send to relatives and friends.

Proceeds from the event will go to elementary school supplies and high school extra-curricular programs.

Also, Brimhall Aquatics Complex, 4949 E. Southern Mesa, will have its annual Pumpkin Splash on October 12 from 1:00 until 3:30 pm. Kids can enjoy a floating pumpkin patch, games, and a ghoul pit.
