Mesa prepares to coin a phrase

Mesa numismatists, or anyone else from the local area who either has coins they believe are worth more than their face value or simply holds an interest in coins, can attend the 47th Annual Mesa Coin Show and Sale this weekend.

The family-friendly two-day event will offer a variety of options for those who choose to attend.

The Coin Show will feature tables covered with coins and booths (including 35 dealers from around the country) manned with people looking to buy, sell, or even trade coins.

There will also be several appraisers on hand to help non-experts figure out if that unique coin they have been harboring holds any real monetary value. Participants can also buy, sell, or trade coins and other associated collectibles, or participate in currency exchanges. Gold and silver bullion, will also be up for sale or trade. There will also be a coin raffle and prize drawings will be held every hour.

Those who plan to attend may want to have business card printing done beforehand to ensure they have enough Business Cards for trading with fellow coin aficionados.

The convention will be held this weekend, Friday, January 23, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Mesa Convention Center, 201 N Center Street, Mesa. The admission price will be $1 to cover expenses.
