Decorated in the holiday spirit, Mesa's Organ Stop Pizza will be holding its annual United Food Bank Christmas in July Food Drive Challenge again this year.
Eaters donating either $2.00 or two non-perishable food items will get 10% off their kitchen bill. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be visiting Saturdays and Sundays and two guests each evening will go home with free stockings loaded with OSP goodies.
Along with the cash donations, items needed for the drive are rice, pasta, canned and dry milk, soup, chili, stew, beans, whole grain cereals, canned meat, fruit and vegetables and peanut butter. Food in glass jars, opened food and baby food will not be accepted.
Organ Stop Pizza guests can enjoy the cool inside temperatures, pizza, salads, and pasta while listening to the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ that will be strewn with Christmas decorations.
All food and proceeds will go to the United Food Bank to help stock shelves and provide food for senior citizens and struggling families who have to decide between paying for food or paying bills.
Charity events such as this occasionally receive Corporate Gifts in the form of money or in-kind donations.
The Christmas in July Food Drive will take place at Organ Stop Pizza, 1149 East Southern Avenue for the month of July seven days a week beginning July 1st.
