Downtown Mesa will be the kick-off event for Merry Main Street 2017.
The event will begin with an ice show presented by AZ Ice, which will be followed by the Mesa City Band playing traditional Christmas music around the four-story tall Mesa Christmas tree. Afterwards, there will be the lighting of the Mesa Christmas tree and an opening program.
For the rest of the evening everyone will be invited to enjoy holiday treats at Jack Frost’s Food Truck Forest and art from local vendors. Children will be heading to the Alliance Pavilion Stage at Mesa Arts Center to visit Santa. After the ice performance at the outdoor Wonderland Ice Rink, the 5,000 square foot rink will open to the public.
Along Merry Main Street, there will be selfie photo stations that will have seasonal backdrops for holiday photos. Everyone will need to remember to bring cameras or phones. Pictures taken at Downtown Mesa will still have time to get inserted into this year’s Holiday Cards.
The Downtown Mesa kick-off event will be tomorrow, November 24, from 4:00 pm until after the tree lighting ceremony which will start at 5:45 pm. The ice show will begin at 4:00 pm at 20 E. Main Street; the Mesa City Band performance will be at 5:00 pm at 1 N. Macdonald and that will be followed by the Mesa Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.Get a Free Quote for Holiday Cards
