The Foundation for Mesa Parks and Recreation will be holding a Mesa Sprint Triathlon toward the end of September.
The triathlon will have a 5km run, 12-mile bike ride and a 400-meter swim set up to provide a fun and safe experience for first-time and seasoned competitors. The event will also have a Duathlon one-mile run, 12-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run. Participants are to bring their own bikes, helmets, goggles and shoes for the bike rides.
Proceeds from this event will go to The Foundation for Mesa Parks and Recreation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides summer recreation and swim programs for local underprivileged children.
Swag will include custom T-Shirts featuring the event's graphic design guaranteed to those registering before September 1st.
Check-in will run from 5:15 am to 6:00 am with the pre-race meeting at 6:15 am and the Sprint Triathlon and the Duathlon starting at 6:30 am. A Kids' Splash-N-Dash (one mile run and 100-yard swim) will begin at 9:00 am.
Registrations for the individual triathlon and the duathlon races will be $105 each, $95 for group (three or more) triathlon registration, and $150 for relay teams for the triathlon. The Kids Splash-N-Dash will cost $35.
RFID Timing Systems will be providing the ankle timing Velcro straps that must be returned after the race.
The Mesa Sprint Triathlon 2024 will take place at the Skyline Aquatics Center, 845 South Crismon Road, Saturday, September 21st.
