Mesa gets a spark of creativity

‘Spark! Mesa’s Festival of Creativity’ will be coming to the area in just over a week’s time.

This will be a celebration of the human mind, as the event will provide an immersive environment that will showcase the work of creative people, who in turn will help guests find their own creativity. More than seven acres and four buildings will create a beehive of interaction.

The event will have works of art, music, and performances that will be kinetic, participatory, or interactive. A performer, artist, or knowledgeable representative will be on hand to run the workshops, performances, installations, or lead interactions. They will be operating their creations, keeping supplies ready, assisting guests, and answering any questions that may arise. Many will have digital Business Cards to exchange information with fellow creators.

There will be participatory activities such as community art projects, on-site community builds, visitors’ art contributions, and Invitations for guests to contribute ideas and writings towards shared visions.

The outdoor activities and performances will be free, but some of large variety of musical performances that will take place in the venue’s theaters may require tickets. Food will be available for purchase.

The event will be Friday, March 17 through Saturday, March 18 at the Mesa Art Center, One East Main Street, Mesa. Each day will start at 12:00 noon and end around 10:00 pm. A special ‘Spark! After Dark’ will run from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
