Mesa families offered after-Christmas zoo events

Mesa families will have plenty to do after Christmas Day thanks to some special post-Christmas events at the zoo.

ZooLights, along with its four million lights and 700 light sculptures, has a 200-foot-long Polar Slide. Live reindeer have been added to the event this year. Admission will also include a 4-D Theater show and entrance to Stingray Bay. Some of the animals such as the Komodo dragons, flamingos, zebras and otter exhibits will be open.

Mesa families can enjoy New Year’s Eve day together at Noon Year’s Eve. Thirty tons of snow will be shipped in for the event. There will be bounce houses, a DJ Dance party, and targets for snowballs. All games and activities will have a bug-theme. A countdown and Dung Beetle Ball Drop will take place at noon, and guests will be treated to a cider/juice toast.

The event is getting banner printing done so the Noon Year’s RE-“Zoo”lutions banner will be ready for guests to sign.

Live mariachi music, Mexican activities, games and food will be available as the zoo celebrates Noche de Reyes Magos - the Night of the Three Kings.

ZooLights will be open daily from 5:30 pm until 10:30 now until January 13th at the Phoenix Zoo 455 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix.

Noon Year’s Eve will also be at the zoo. It will run from 9 am until noon Monday, December 31st.

Noche de Reyes Magos! will be at the zoo January 6, 2019 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
