To commemorate the emancipation of African Americans held in slavery here in the U.S., Mesa Community College, the Mesa-East Valley MLK Committee, and the City of Mesa will be holding a Juneteenth celebration next month.
The theme for this year's festival, "Rooted in Resilience," has been chosen to represent the perseverance, determinations, and strength of Black communities both past, present, and future.
A health fair, career empowerment hub, and a show in the Mesa Community College Planetarium will be featured. Live DJs from Mesa Community College will be providing music, and there will be an art exhibition, food trucks, and activities on site.
Local non-profit organizations will be passing out information about their programs and missions, food vendors will be selling seasonal treats, retail vendors will be offering goods and services, and many a local business will be getting their Logo Design, brand, and services out to the public.
Sponsorships levels range from the $500 Festival Friend Sponsor to the $25,000 Presenting Sponsor. All levels will offer Logo Design placement on all printed and promotional materials for the event, participating sponsor recognition on all social media announcements and event press releases, and many will include sponsor recognition on the festival stage.
This year's Juneteenth Celebration will take place on Southern & Dobson Campus, the Main Campus of Mesa Community College, 1833 West Southern Ave, on Wednesday, June 19 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
