Mesa celebrates 4th with Arizona Celebration of Freedom

Mesa will host Arizona Celebration of Freedom to commemorate Independence Day this year.

One of the 12 activity zones will be the Yankee Doodle Kids’ Zone where children and their families can enjoy carnival and picnic type games. They can play musical chairs, run sack races, toss water balloons, blow cups, and take part in the pie eating contest. Winners in the contest will surely want pictures taken for future poster printing.

Other areas will have misting trailers and a free Splash Zone containing a fire truck soak zone and inflatable water slides. The Freedom Express Trackless Train will be transporting guests around the venue.

The Stars and Stripes Stage will have live music while fans play tailgate-style games in the Tailgate Zone. The Mesa Amphitheatre will have ongoing music from live bands and will be the site of the Salute to America program prior to the fireworks.

Independence Hall will have a Historical Flags presentation. The Let Freedom Ring Stage will feature the Mesa City Band, a naturalization ceremony, a performance from the Actor’s Youth Theater, and the band Whiskey Rose.

The venue will also offer a Revolutionary War Reenactment, an American Arts and Culture Showcase and America’s Heritage Lane where attendees can walk through history.

Arizona Celebration of Freedom will be July 4 from 6:00 pm until after the fireworks at 10:00 pm at the Mesa Amphitheatre/Mesa Convention Center complex, 263 N. Center Street.
