Cirque do Livre Writers’ Conference is coming to Mesa, following the idea of a small town film festival concept.
Instead of films, this three-day conference will offer elements of the publishing industry, such as agents, authors, and booksellers.
New and wannabe authors will get the chance to hear more than 60 panel discussions covering all aspects of writing poetry, fiction, or non-fiction. Publishers will be meeting prospective authors in a Speed Dating format. Photographers and artists will be answering questions about book cover designing and book illustrating, and the possibility of collaborations with the authors. There will be a Film Festival, where films that Books have inspired will be shown.
Authors will be signing their Books all weekend at a Pop Up Bookstore. Guests may purchase the Books at the Lulubell Toy Bodega or bring their own. Presenters and anyone registered with a full festival pass may sign-up for a book signing session. Early registration of the three-day pass also gives access to entry in the Badge Art Contest. Authors may enter their book cover designs and the winner will have their cover design printed on the conference badges.
Everyone interested in the authoring process and the publishing industry will want to clear their schedule this weekend, as the event runs from today until Sunday, taking place in many locations around downtown Mesa.
