May fundraisers planned for dogs and parks

East Side Elves, a non-profit organization that supports local animal causes, is hosting ‘Golf has Gone to the Dogs!’

This is a golf fundraiser for the care and maintenance of Maricopa County’s homeless animals and Mesa Community College vet tech scholarships.

Activities aside from playing 18 holes of golf will include a 50/50 drawing, raffle, women’s and men’s long drive, putt and closest to the pin prizes, and other activities.

Registration for individual players without lunch will be $75, and with lunch is $95. Foursomes without lunch will run $300, and with lunch $380. Hole sponsorships are $150. Registration will begin at 6:30 am with the shotgun start at 7:30 am.

Animal lovers who wish to support fundraising events such as this occasionally get some flyer printing done to get the word out to neighbors, friends, and co-workers.

Golf has Gone to the Dogs! will be Saturday, May 21 from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm at the Kokopelli Golf Club, 1800 Guadalupe Road.

Another fundraiser that same afternoon will be the annual Art in the Park, which is to raise money for Mesa’s parks. Tickets, priced at $25, will include dinner, appetizers, drinks, and entertainment provided by the Rolf Olsen Jazz Quartet. Art from local artists will be available for purchase and youth art will be auctioned.

Art in the Park will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, May 21 at La Mesa Community Garden Park, 5080 Memorial Drive.
