Local running event celebrates 20 years

Many athletes in Mesa will be making the short journey to Tempe for the 20th Annual Pat's Run in mid-April.

TEKsystem will once again present this run in honor of Pat Tillman. The run helps to fund the military spouses, veterans, and over 800 Tillman scholars supported by the Pat Tillman Foundation.

The run/walk will be 4.2 miles and the Kids' Race will be 0.42 miles. The course will take runners through Tempe and will end in the Su Devil Stadium.

The in-person 4.2-mile run/walk will cost $50 and the in-person kids' run will be $15, while the virtual 4.2 run will be $42 and the virtual 0.42-mile kids run will be $10.

Special 4.2-mile Tillman Honor run entry fees will cost $42. These family-friendly runs can be carried out in over 30 designated races nationwide occurring from Saturday, April 6 through Saturday, April 27.

Swag for the Tempe race will include 2024 race tees featuring this year's race Logo Design, and finisher medals. Other T-Shirts and merchandise will be available for purchase during registration.

Individual and group runners may opt to raise funds for the foundation, and fundraising tools are available on the event's website.

The 20th Pat's Run will take place April 13 at 500 E Veterans Way, Tempe. Both the in-person 4.2-mile run/walk and the 0.42-mile in-person kids run will begin at 7:05 am.
