The 80th Annual Arizona Open Championships is being held at the end of July. It will be presented by the Southwest PGA and open to both amateur and professional golfers.
The Open will be 54 holes in total and the field will comprise 156 players that have won qualifying events, as well as those exempt from the qualifying rounds. The qualifying sites are Tucson’s Ventana Canyon Golf Club today (July 6), Chandler’s Lone Tree Golf Club tomorrow (July 7), Laveen’s Aguila Golf Course on July 10, and Phoenix Moon Valley Country Club on July 12. The last two are Scottsdale’s McCormick Ranch Golf Club on July 17 and the NV Las Vegas National Golf Club on July 24.
After 36 holes, the field will be cut to those players scoring in the low 50s and ties. Professionals making the cut and finishing the final round of play will receive prize money. Amateurs will receive Mesa Country Club merchandise Gift Certificates.
Participants are to schedule a practice round and wear appropriate golf attire. Golfers may not tote their own Bags, so motorized passenger carts will be required, or golfers may bring their own caddies.
Golf clubs that host events like this usually have pictures taken during play. The photos often go to nearby Print shops to be added to advertising materials.
