Local arts center opens for 2021-2022 season

Mesa Encore Theater (MET) is preparing for its new season in early September. The theater will be presenting The Best of Broadway Live in Concerts.

Each performance will feature MET guest stars celebrating past and present Broadway shows. Music will range from Gershwin, to Rodgers and Hammerstein, to present day composers like Kin-Manuel Miranda, Pasek & Paul, and Stephen Schwartz.

Program brochure printing is in full swing for the six shows scheduled for this coming year. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum will run from November 5 through November 21 in the Nesbitt/Elliott Playhouse.

Starting 2022, Barefoot in the Park will run from January 14 to January 30 in the Farnsworth Studio Theater. Also in the Farnsworth Studio Theater, We Tell the Story will be March 18 to 27, and Puffs or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic will show from April 1 to 17.

It will be back to the Nesbitt/Elliott Playhouse Theater for the last show of the season, where Mamma Mia will show from May 20 to June 5.
