Independence Day spans two nights in Mesa

Mesa residents can celebrate Independence Day 2021 on both Saturday, July 3 and again on Sunday, July 4.

Mesa’s annual Arizona Celebration of Freedom will be a free event at Fiesta Mall, 1425 W. Southern Avenue on Saturday, July 3. Music before and during the half-hour fireworks display will be available on KOOL FM 94.5.

Vehicles will be parked by Mesa Police and guests are asked to stay in the designated spot while watching the show. As there will not be vendors, guests may bring food, non-alcoholic drinks, along with blankets and chairs. The fireworks will be from 9:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

On the Sunday, Mesa Independence Day revelers can head over to Gilbert Regional Park, 3005 E. Queen Creek Road for Gilbert’s 4th of July fireworks.

A live DJ will be on tap from 5:30 pm until 7:00, pm and local bands and vocalists will be performing from 7:15 pm until 8:45 pm. The venue will offer a playground, splash pad, and courts for volleyball, basketball, tennis, and pickleball.

Guests can bring their own seating, food, and non-alcohol drinks. Food trucks will include Pizza Arno, Maui Wowi Hawaiian, Hotshots Hot Dogs, The Burger Trolley, Woodbarn BBQ, and Mobile Sugar Shack.

Local businesses often sponsor 4th of July events and have pictures of the fireworks taken to local Print shops as part of their advertising brochure printing.

General seating will be free and the gates open at 5:30 pm.
