Mesa locals looking for something fun to do outdoors are in for a welcome treat next month.
The ‘Season Kickoff Festival – 10th Year Celebration’ will be held, and it promise to be both enriching and fun for people of all ages and cultures.
The festival this year will feature a Latin vibe and will take on the atmosphere of a street party, with music performed by opener Matt Anderson and followed by a Los Lonely Boys concert.
To help get things moving, Ballet Hispanico will be offering free Latin dance lessons. The Mesa Contemporary Museum will also be opening a new exhibition showcasing Latin artists, which will include, among other items, pieces from comic Cheech Marin’s private collection.
Attendees will also get to see a collection of low-riders and to join in with local street performers singing popular Latin tunes. In addition, the museum will be offering five exhibitions for viewing, highlight paintings, sculpture, photography, and other types of art. Local artists may want to have flyer printing done to pass out to advertise their wares.
The Kickoff Festival will be held Friday, September 11, at the Mesa Arts Center, 1 E Main St Mesa from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. There will be no charge for admittance, though those that attend will likely want to bring cash to pay for dinner, provided courtesy of local vendors.
