Mesa residents can feel special later this month, as they become part of the first annual Eastmark AwesomeFest coming up next week.
A ‘Two-bit Circus Roadshow’ will be among the attractions, presenting an arcade attraction that features interactive games in a circus-style atmosphere. Austin Bike Zoo will bring glowing creatures such as the 80-foot long rattlesnake, butterflies with tails measuring up to 18 feet, and a bat and owl that visitors may ride. Fireflies will flicker with an eerie green glow too.
Guests may also ride one of the pied flying horses on the Bicycle Carousel, and the gigantic real-life-like Bald Eagle is sure to catch everyone’s eye. Night pictures of this lit-up menagerie would make great subjects for later poster printing.
Tethered balloons will illuminate the sky too, as four-legged shadow creatures crawl around the grounds. A laser maze, bungee trampoline, water walking balls, and interactive graffiti wall will entice the more active guests.
Flam Chen, a spectacle of pyrotechnics, acrobatics, light fire, and air, will entertain, as will a cappella groups, rock bands, hip-hop dancing troupes, and band karaoke entertainment. Food trucks and bake shops will have food available for purchase to tempt the guests who have rumbling stomachs.
The event is scheduled for April 18, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Eastmark-Great Park, 10100 E. Ray Road, Mesa. Admission is free.
