Patriotism is alive and well in Mesa, as the city will host its annual Arizona Celebration of Freedom to celebrate Independence Day.
Meza patriots can look forward to an evening of fun, entertainment, and of course fireworks. Parking will be free in all downtown parking lots, and admission to all events will be free as well.
The celebration will feature the Lady Liberty Car Show and the Yankee Doodle Kids’ Zone, and also the Celebration Splash Zone will have inflatable water slides and soak areas.
America’s Art & Culture Showcase will offer displays and crafts from the Arizona Museum of Natural History and the Mesa Arts Center. Local artists will once again be drawing a patriotic mural. Other activities will include tributes at Independence Hall and a Patriotic Military Showcase at the Cox Freedom Plaza. Some attendees may wish to have banner printing done to show support for the U.S.
Revolutionary reenactments will also be presented on the hour until the fireworks begin. The center’s three stages will present Chad Freeman & Redline, Western Fusion, MC6, B-Platinum, Rock Lobster, and the Chicago Cubs Salute to America program. Other performers will be by Pat Roberts & the Heymakers, and Whiskey Kiss.
The celebration will be held July 4th at the Meza Convention Center, 263 N. Center Street, Meza. Fireworks will begin at 10pm.
