Christmas celebration returns to Mesa

The Merry Main Street series of events will go ahead once again in Mesa toward the end of November.

The Merry Main Street Tree Lighting and Kick Off will run from 5:00pm to 10:00pm on November 24th. This will mark the opening of the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink, Jack Frost Food Truck Forest, and Visits with Santa.

Pictures taken with Santa early in the season often have plenty of time to go to local Stationery printers to become Christmas cards.

Dave Seabough’s Charity Christmas Spectacular will be performed from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Meza Arts Center. The Aaron McCall Band will be playing music at the tree during the opening event.

Mesa Temple Christmas Lights will be available to view from Friday, November 24 through Saturday, December 31st from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.

A Self-Guided Reindeer Roll and Stroll, on December 9th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, will be presented by the City of Mesa Bicycle and Pedestrian Program. Participants are encouraged to join in a free scavenger hunt setting their own pace, choosing their routes, and deciding what order to do the tasks and find the items.

Holiday costumes are encouraged, and the only requirement will be mobile devices or digital cameras to document the “finds”.

The grand prize will be a $100 Downtown Mesa gift card and a bicycle worth up to $500. Three second prizes will be $50 safety prize Bags and a $50 gift card, and six third prizes will be water bottles and $25 gift cards.
