‘Show Me the Money’ is a great family event currently running at the Arizona Museum for Youth (AMY) in Mesa, Arizona, in which artists display the creative and artistic side of money.
The audience will take a good look at the artwork in a one-dollar bill and come to understand how skilled artisans created it. This showcase features and highlights the artistic skills of engravers who have created the money from around the world, while preventing forgers from being able to copy it.
During ‘Show Me the Money’, there are 10 stops that provide information and insight about money. Guests will participate in making AMY bucks and will learn about AMY buckstops, where they can complete tasks and turn them in for special prizes at the Museum Gallery Shop. Little ones can visit the AMY National Bank and try breaking the code for a life-size safe, with its shiny treasures hidden inside the glow-in-the-dark room. There will also be dress-up opportunities for the little ones and kids can exchange AMY money at the town’s market.
Poster printing, flyer printing, and other printing services may have been used to promote this learning experience to parents in this region. Admission is $7 per person over the age of one year old and everyone is welcome.
Show Me the Money runs from on Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm up until January 20, 2013. To learn more, please visit the Arizona Museum for Youth website or call 480-644-2468 during business hours.
