The City of Chandler’s CinePark May Movie Series will be screening Wonka this spring at Tumbleweed Park.
The outdoor movie screening is intended for the whole family and people of all ages. Those who attend are encouraged to bring things to sit on to enjoy the film, including lawn chairs and blankets.
Prior to the film’s screening, there will be an hour-and-a-half session for crafts and activities. It’s all part of the movie series bringing three different films to Chandler parks in May.
Wonka stars Timothee Chalamet and comes from Paul King, the director of the Paddington films. The musical serves as a prequel to the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and the original book, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Wonka follows the story of the titular young chocolatier in his early days, eager to change a town in which a few companies hold a monopoly on sweet treats. With his incredible candy, inventiveness and charm, Wonka marches toward his dream of opening his own chocolate shop.

Wonka is playing as part of the CinePark May Movie Series on May 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Tumbleweed Park at 2250 S. McQueen Road in Chandler.
