A casino in Chandler is hosting a concert by guitar virtuosos, the Gipsy Kings, this December.
With their mixture of world music influences laid out in a high-tempo guitar backdrop and full-throated vocals, Gipsy Kings have enjoyed decades of success through hits like “Volare” and “Baila Me,” among others.
Rhythmic melodies designed for people to dance to are infused with elements of Latin music and flamenco, as illustrated in their chart-topping numbers like “Djobi Djoba” and “Bamboléo.”
The concert features the talents of original Gipsy Kings co-founder Nicolas Reyes, who has led the band for over three decades.
Jose Reyes, Nicolas’ father, set the stage for the Gispy Kings’ origins, as he formed his own acclaimed flamenco band with Manitas de Plata, influencing his son along the way.
Some of the band’s most notable pop cultural touchstones include receiving a Grammy Award for Best World Music Album for their 9th full-length LP, Savor Flamenco.
Gipsy Kings’ cover of The Eagles’ “Hotel California” was featured prominently in the cult classic film The Big Lebowski, becoming a favorite rendition of the song among fans.
Concerts like this may choose to use Print shops to create music sheets, set lists and CD covers.
Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes is happening on Friday, December 11, at 8 pm at Gila River Resorts and Casinos, located at 5040 Wild Horse Pass Blvd in Chandler.Get a Free Quote for Print
