Steven Spielberg fans can have a feast in Chandler this summer, with a range of his films screening, both new and classics.
Beginning this week on June 11, Spielberg’s latest Disclosure Day, a mysterious action-adventure about aliens on Earth, will come to the Majestic Chandler 9 theater at 4955 S Arizona Ave. The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth and Colman Domingo. Tickets are priced at around $13 for general admission evening shows.
Several other films by Spielberg are screening for free this summer at the Sunset Library at 4930 W Ray Rd. In a summer series for children as part of the library’s “Unearth a Story” program, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is screening on June 24, followed by Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on July 1 and Jurassic Park on July 8.
The library screenings are set up in the Monsoon Room with a special “under the stars” configuration.
The film series coincides with a Summer Reading Challenge program hosted by the library this June and July. With support from Friends of Chandler Public Library, participants are challenged to read 1,000 minutes to win prizes. Registration is available on the Chandler Sunset Library’s website.
