Chandler is once again hosting its annual Multicultural Festival this January in part to honor the civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As one of multiple Celebration of Unity events, the aim is to unite people from all walks of life and all cultures across the globe.
Shopping opportunities, live music and food will all be part of the festivities.
More than 50 non-profit organizations operating in the Chandler area and offering resources to a culturally diverse community will also be available to participants.
The 4th Annual MLK Jr. Award winners will be honored at the event, which was made possible in part by the City of Chandler’s Connection and Impact Division.
Interactive activities for children will also be part of the festivities, as will a youth Creative Expression Competition.
There will also be an opportunity to give food to people in need, facilitated by various Chandler non-profit organizations at the event via food collection bins. The most needed food items include mac and cheese, cereal, peanut butter, noodles, tuna and chicken (in either cans or pouches), soup, one-pound Bags of rice, cereal and pasta sauce.
Festivals like this may choose to use flyer printing to promote events or convey schedule information.
The Chandler Multicultural Festival is happening on January 17 from 11 am to 6 pm at the Dr. A.J. Chandler Park: Stage Plaza at 178 E. Commonwealth Ave. in Chandler.
