People with a knack for musical theater are encouraged to audition for a forthcoming production of the Broadway classic Fiddler on the Roof in Chandler.
While the musical itself, produced by Chandler Center for the Arts, will not open its curtains to the public until mid-March of 2027, the audition process is beginning this summer.
On July 27, from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm, a pre-audition workshop will take place at the Chandler Community Center at 125 E Commonwealth Ave in Downtown Chandler. The workshop, designed for prospective auditionees to sharpen their musical theater skills, is hosted by Seth Reines and JR McAlexander – two veteran artistic directors.
Then, on August 2 beginning at 2:00 pm, the auditions proper will be held, once again at the Chandler Community Center, which is the same venue at which the musical will eventually be shown.
Online registration is required for both events. Auditionees must be 18 or older and they should bring a headshot and resumé. They will be required to memorize a song from either Fiddler on the Roof or any other Broadway musical, excluding pop/rock, and must perform at least 16 bars from it. They should bring a music sheet — either paper or digital — with their song of choice.
Musicals like this may choose to use brochure printing to create music sheets, playbills, and season schedules.
