Chandler library hosts childrens play
The Imaginators, presented by Childsplay Theatre, is a play coming to the Downtown Library in Chandler this December.
Weaving comedy with wholesome moments, the play is a meditation on friendships, the power of imagination, the spirit of adventure and finding new places.
Appropriate for all ages, the Imaginators is written by Dwayne Hartford. The story focuses on three children, two of whom have just moved to a new area. Though Anne and Tim are siblings, Anne is hesitant to play with Tim her little brother, afraid the other children will tease her.
After meeting their next-door neighbor, Nina Frances Elizabeth Vanderhelden, the pair’s lives are forever changed. Nina uses moving boxes and other random objects in the garage to take Anne and Tim on an adventure of the imagination.
With a lesson on never losing one’s sense of creativity, the play follows the children as they embark on an epic battle against a monster who eats children, the Mooklecratz.
The play is being put on by the Childsplay Theatre, which was founded in 1977 with a mission that includes stoking the imagination of young people.
Plays like this may choose to use print shops for set decoration designs, promotion and audience programs.
Childsplay Theatre Performance: The Imaginators is playing on December 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Copper Room South on the second floor of the Downtown Library at 22 S Delaware St. in Chandler.
