Juneteenth is being marked in Chandler with a concert at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park downtown.
Sponsored by the City of Chandler’s Connection and Impact Division, the fifth annual Culture Music in the Park event features a performance by Vaughn Willis and Ear Candy.
Playing everything from Top 40 music to R&B and soul staples, the local band will provide the musical background for an event filled with all kinds of activities for the community.
The Outside Scoop ice cream shop, Bebe’s Caribbean Cuisine, and Kravins barbecue are just some of the food vendors available at the event.
There will also be a children’s play area featuring games and other family-friendly activities, sponsored by the Larry Thomas Youth Development and 1% Kid foundations.
Hands-on activities, shopping opportunities, local merchants, and resource booths will also be available at the event, which is free to attend.
With free parking available off Boston St and Buffalo St., concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs, as much of the seating is in the open grassy field of the park.
Music events in the park like this may choose to use banner printing to create Signs for picnic areas, general seating, and stage decorations.
Culture Music in the Park is happening on Saturday, June 13 from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm at 178 E Commonwealth Ave in Chandler.
