Acclaimed jazz guitarist strums into Chandler

Pat Metheny is performing his signature jazz guitar music during a concert at the Chandler Center for the Arts this May.

The concert will be a celebration of Metheny’s latest album, Side-Eye III+, which was released back in March, a follow-up to the 2020 album From This Place.

Metheny’s current iteration of his music is an evolution from his previous quartet, Unity Band, from the early 2010s.

The newest album is also a continuation of his Metheny’s post-pandemic project, Side-Eye, which he used as an opportunity to shepherd the next generation of jazz musicians under his wing. Side-Eye III+ is continuing in that same spirit, featuring up-and-coming musicians to give them a new platform, both in the studio and on tour.

This newest permutation of Metheny’s band includes himself, Chris Fishman on keys, bassist Jermaine Paul, vocalist and percussionist Leonard Patton, and Joe Dyson on drums.

With decades of experience under his belt, Metheny garnered acclaim for the diversity of melodic themes in his repertoire as a jazz guitarist, receiving 20 Grammy Awards in various categories along the way. Concerts like this may choose to use brochure printing to create audience programs, setlists, and music sheets.

Pat Metheny is performing on Saturday, May 9 at 7:30 pm at the Chandler Center for the Arts at 250 North Arizona Avenue.
