A moving company known as College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving has opened a franchise location in Chandler.
The company, which has made appearances on such primetime shows as ‘Shark Tank’, handles a number of jobs such as local moves, picking up donations, removing junk, and providing general labor.
The head of the Hunks—which stands for Honest, Uniformed, Nice, Knowledgeable, Service—team is Stephen Abate, who has worked in the semiconductor industry, and is now with the Tempe Business Professionals as well as the Chandler Chamber of Commerce. He is also an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts.
He says he was attracted to the franchise opportunity when he saw the Logo Design, which uses the slogan ‘Building Leaders’, as this is wording that aligns with the goals of the Scouts. Nick Friedman, the founder and president of the company, said Abate was the type of person they wanted to associate with as a franchisee, as he is enthusiastic about the company and its vision, and wants to mentor others and help the company grow.
The new College Hunks location is on West Detroit Street in Chandler, and is now open for business. New businesses like this need to build brand recognition, and one way to do so is to distribute Promotional Products to their first customers.
