Larry the Cable Guy, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, is a Nebraska native who enjoys a successful stand-up career, and who has also appeared on television and in films, as well as authoring several Books. The subjects of his routines range from politics to personal hygiene, and the shows may not be suitable for children.
Whitney got his start in college, while majoring in speech and drama. His comedy routines began to take off, and he quit school to pursue a showbusiness career full time. However, he found that using his real name met with only limited success, so he created the character of the Cable Guy, a persona he has maintained since he first developed it.
He has explained that he “turns on” Larry's exaggerated Southern accent both off stage and on, in case he forgets it and slips back into his normal pattern of speech. The RIAA has certified two of his comedy albums gold.
A review of a show said:
"His humor remains basic and sometimes base. . .. But Larry also feels nicer, almost benevolent, the jokey uncle whose mean teasing has gentled to goofing over the years.”
Larry will be at the Wild Horse Pass in Chandler on May 7, 2021, for two shows, at 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Brochure printing can provide programs for events like this.
