After scoring a smash hit at Chandler's Summer Concert Series in 2019, a much-loved group is returning for another year.
LP & The Vinyl is pianist Danny Green and vocalist Leonard Patton, with new additions Julien Cantelm on drums and bassist Justin Grinnell. The group draws on three different sources for its material.
One is the renditions they devise of hits by popular artists such as David Bowie, The Beatles, and Stevie Wonder. The second is the songs they write themselves, and the third source is the way in which they explore jazz standards. The group brings something new to the performance every time they play, which makes their approach consistent. They have been praised for their commitment to their music, and the raw emotion they exhibit.
The group will appear at the Chandler Center for the Arts, located in the city's downtown. The center offers three performance spaces: the Main Stage seats 1,500, the Hal Bogle Theatre seats 350, and the Recital Hall holds 250.
LP & The Vinyl will appear on August 23, at 7:00 pm. This performance was originally scheduled to take place April 24, with the August date being a rescheduling. Tickets purchased for the earlier date will be honored at this concert.
