Chandler is improving all sections of its transportation system, and seeking public input as the project progresses.
The city will soon present drafts of the Arizona Avenue Alternatives Analysis study, and the Chandler Transportation Master Plan 2019 Update (TMP) to residents. Valley Metro and the City of Chandler will co-host a meeting so that people can share their thoughts on these two measures before they are finalized. The studies could have significant impact on the city's future with regard to its infrastructure, future development, operations, and transportation policies.
The upcoming meeting is one of a series that began earlier in the year. They are designed to encourage residents to give the city feedback about the transportation systems in Chandler, including the roads, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and public transit. Residents were asked to identify the type of improvements they want to see made to these systems, and in what order.
Based on the results of the previous meeting, and those of an online survey, a consultant prepared the draft that will be available at the meeting. The City's Transportation Commission will have a chance to examine the draft at a meeting in early November, and the City Council will vote on it early in 2020.
The meeting will be held on October 24 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Chandler Community Center on East Commonwealth Avenue. Flyer printing can be used in cases like this to create an agenda for attendees.
