Painted Soul is performing at the Chandler Center for the Arts this summer.
Comprising of a father-daughter duo, Desiree and Damon White bring their own sense of flavor to R&B, funk and soul, with influences ranging from the classic era to the modern age. The band was created as a way to bring light during a dark time in their lives.
As part of the Chandler Center for the Arts Free Summer Concert Series, the event will include a gallery exhibition, a raffle and specialty drinks on offer.
At one point in time, Damon was given a medical prognosis that he would soon die, leaving the family to scramble to make funeral arrangements and other preparations. In that moment, Damon’s daughter, Desiree, thought deeply about what she wanted to share with him the most, should he survive. She realized music had been the common thread that got the family through the toughest of times.
Miraculously, Damon made a complete recovery and was released from the hospital. However, Desiree’s epiphany that she wanted to connect with her father through music remained an undeniable vision that they now wanted to pursue. As a result, Painted Soul was born.
