Classic rockers coming to Chandler

Two bands that have been rocking for decades are coming to Chandler.

Blue Öyster Cult and Jefferson Starship are touring together, and will be stopping at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino later this year.

Blue Öyster Cult (BOC) first got together in 1967, in Stony Brook, New York. A straight-ahead rock band, BOC is known for singles such as “Godzilla,” and “(Don't Fear) The Reaper.” Worldwide, they have sales of 25 million records, and were one of the first outfits to develop music videos, helping to launch the concept.

A review of a BOC concert says:

“Wow these guys put it down twin lead guitars and they never missed a beat.”

Jefferson Starship is a San Francisco outfit that started as Jefferson Airplane in 1965, and evolved over time. Among its biggest hits are “Ride the Tiger,” and “Girl with the Hungry Eyes.” Eight of their albums reached either platinum or gold status.

A long-time fan reviewed the Starship:

“Last time I saw them was 1976 South Padre Island, TX. They were Jefferson Airplane (Grace Slick and all). Now Napa Ca. Jefferson Starship and as fun as ever. . . . See them when you can because you will enjoy yourselves.”

The bands will be in Chandler on November 6 at 8:00 pm, at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino. Poster printing is often used to create publicity for events like this.
