Chandler workshop to create pollinator-friendly landscapes

Chandler residents who would like to find out how they can make their garden more pollinator friendly may appreciate an upcoming workshop that’s on offer for them.

The ASU Chandler Innovation Center will serve as the location for a class that will introduce a variety of ways to encourage pollinators to visit, and it will run for two hours. Face coverings such as a mask are recommended to help prevent the spread of Covid.

During the session, the attendees will be introduced to well-known pollinators such as butterflies and bees as well as some that may be new to them. Beetles, bats, moths and other nighttime pollinators will be included as well, as will birds. The attendees will learn how to choose flowers and other landscape elements that attract these species and make them feel at home, and they will also discover other ways to make their yard more welcoming to these garden helpers.

Those who facilitate in-person activities often choose to distribute handouts to the registrants. Print shops will be able to provide copying and the printing services, and these are often budget friendly.

The City of Chandler has included this activity on its list of landscaping and irrigation workshops that it has on offer this year. It will take place on March 27th, running from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
