Chandler welcomes new music superstore

Zia Records, based at Chandler Boulevard and Dobson Road, will soon close, but fans shouldn't worry. Zia is about to open a brand-new location on an even larger scale.

The new store, which will be Zia's third in the Phoenix area, will be sited at the intersection of Alma School Road and Elliot Road. Two years ago, Zia opened a large store on Phoenix's Camelback Road and, last year, it added a superstore in Tempe. The Chandler location is hopedto be convenient for everyone in the valley.

Brian Faber, Vice President and General Manager of Zia, said the company is excited about the new location. The store will comprise 13,000 square feet, double that of the present site, and offer more music and movies, in addition to a book section, gifts, and video games.

The store opening is tentatively set for September 19. If that date remains firm, the current location will shut down on September 16, allowing two days for the staff to move merchandise. Opening day will feature a range of special events for music enthusiasts, including live performance and book signings.

Zia's management team could work with a banner printing company to create a welcome banner for the doorway, and professional catalog printing over helps record stores to promote their full stock to music fans and collectors.
