The Wizard of Oz musical is coming to the Chandler Center for the Arts to take audiences down the yellow brick road.
Featuring local musical theater performers and musicians, the story follows Dorothy and her colorful companions as they seek out the enigmatic Wizard to fulfill their greatest wishes.
The timeless story features relatable yet fantastical characters such as the heartless Tin Man, the brainless Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and the Wicked Witch of the West.
The adventurers sing classics like Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Follow the Yellow Brick Road and other songs as they travel to the legendary Emerald City to seek their fortunes.
The story has endured through the ages in movies, Books, spinoffs and sequels. At its heart, it centers on the theme of finding inner strength through friendship.
When it comes to the live performance, the emphasis is placed on not only the story and songs, but over-the-top costumes and choreography.

The Wizard of Oz is coming to the Chandler Center for the Arts’ Steena Murray Mainstage on 250 North Arizona in Chandler on Friday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 15 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online and range from $15-$58.
