Summer temperatures in Arizona can soar into triple digits, but a theater in Chandler is offering a way for people to beat the heat, entertain the kids, and help the nonprofit Chandler Compadres all at the same time.
The Kids' Camp is now ongoing at the Alamo Drafthouse in Chandler, offering ‘Pick Your Price’ tickets for films suitable for all ages. Thus far, audiences have been treated to ‘The Iron Giant’, and ‘Trolls’, with ‘Muppets from Space’, and ‘The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie’ still upcoming. The films are shown at 10:00 am on selected dates, and attendees can pick the price they wish to pay, choosing either $1, $3, or $5 for a ticket. All proceeds from the special screenings go to the Chandler Compadres.
The Compadres were founded in 1980, with the single mission of helping support families in the East Valley who were in need. Members of the organization give their resources, talents, time, and money to help disadvantaged children in the Chandler community.
The Alamo Drafthouse is one of the newer type of theater springing up across the country, where patrons can order meals and beverages to be served to them at their seats.
‘Muppets from Space’ runs July 16-20, and ‘SpongeBob’ is on screen July 21-27. Events like this can be helped if organizers work with a postcard printing company to announce the schedule.
