Chandler pub ready to grow

The Perch, a popular pub and brewery in downtown Chandler, is getting set to expand.

Expanding the space will allow the pub to meet the increasing demand for the craft beers that it brews on site, as well as a general increase in the number of customers. The Perch opened its doors in February 2014.

The expansion will add approximately 6,500 square feet to the property, including two nearby structures, which will be added to the pub's footprint. One of these buildings will be renamed, and will open as a different concept.

Rebecca Lavenue and Sue Sechrest are co-owners of The Perch. Lavenue said the pub is now selling approximately 25 kegs of its house beers each weekend. She says they added another building in back to give them more rooftop seating, and are doubling the brewery's capacity.

Plans for the expansion show that it will link the existing pub to a vacant building to the northeast, and a 450-square-foot adjacent property on the southeast. The expansion will increase outdoor seating to 320 persons, including the rooftop. Overall, the property will go from approximately 30,000 square feet to more than 36,000 square feet.

When the renovations are complete, Lavenue and Sechrest could work with a printer to devise ad specialties, such as balloons, Pens, or other promotional items, to give to patrons who come to enjoy the new space.
