St Leonards residents are in the box seat to take part in the 2016 Vivid Sydney music, light and ideas festival.
The event in neighbouring Chatswood, New South Wales, is set to transform the CBD into `WildLight – The Bio-Kinetic City’, incorporating activities and engaging installations inspired by the creatures of Gondwana.
Willoughby Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney described the festival as a “wonderful event” and mentioned the economic and cultural development opportunities it brings to the local community.
She said last year’s inaugural event put on a visually spectacular light display and this year would continue the trend by providing a continuous walk beginning at the Chatswood interchange, through the Mall, and straight past Westfield Chatswood, concluding on the Concourse.
Banner printing is already underway for the festival which will also feature specially created daytime activations aimed at families and young children, according to the Mayor.
Embarking passengers at Chatswood Interchange will experience a technology-led journey into yesteryear as they step into a world of lighting effects, projection, and fascinating avian creatures.
A presentation of Neon Dino Nights, which feature vibrant digital animations, will be on show at Westfield Chatswood while The Concourse will host futuristic 3D animations of prehistoric creatures.
The Mayor said Brochures for Vivid Sydney also advertise many other highlights for the enjoyment of visitors, who will also have an opportunity to enjoy market stalls, dining, and great shopping in the CBD.
The event will be held from May 27 to June 13, from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm.Get a Free Quote for Brochures
