A riverside excursion aimed at families with young children is running near St. Leonards as a term time activity.
Parents in St. Leonards with little ones aged between two and five can get involved in an event called “River Wander – Lane Cove Bush Kids”. Taking place close to the suburb by the Lane Cove River, the activity is presented by the local council.
Government sponsored programmes sometimes use flyer printing services to create ads for the activities they operate that can be placed in schools and libraries to engage members of the community.
All taking part will learn that the Lane Cove River has been an important place for plants, people and animals for thousands of years and take a walk along its banks to explore all that it offers. Children will also get an opportunity to make some river art and enjoy a story from Sally Morgan, a Palyku author.
The activity will now take place at Blackman Park on Wednesday, August 5. The park is located at the far end of Lloyd Rees Drive in Lane Cove, less than two miles from St. Leonards. Families attending are invited to meet with organisers past the playground and the event starts at 9.45 am and ends at 11.15 am.
Parents with older children wishing to participate will find the same activities also run in the school holidays for other age groups.
