St. Leonards to host interior design and decorating open day

An open day for people interested in studying interior design and decorating will be held later this month.

The day will be held at the Sydney Design School in St Leonards and will include information about the courses on offer, as well as providing an opportunity for participants to create their own moodboard.

A moodboard is a tool used by interior designers when putting together a scheme for a client. Creating a palette of colours and textures, the designer uses the board to showcase a miniature visual concept of the finished design to the client.

Director of the school, Amanda Grace will be giving a 30 minute talk to attendees and will be covering information on courses and discussing options for flexible study arrangements.

Participants will also have the opportunity to speak with educators on the day who will discuss career options after graduation. All the educators currently work in the field of interior design and decoration.

Sydney Design School offers nationally accredited courses which ensures that all graduating students are professionally recognised. Students will have a full portfolio upon graduation, which can be personalised using graphic design. The school assists in job placement for all students.

After the information session, participants will be invited to tour the art studios. The open day will be held on Saturday 25th May at 10am until 12pm.
