Kenosha plans tasty festival

Kenosha foodies have a reason to rejoice, as a popular event is returning to the city.

The Taste of Wisconsin is on the way to Kenosha’s waterfront, bringing more than 75 musicians who will be playing on four stages, four beverage gardens, a Kid Zone, and—most importantly, more than 40 food vendors. Chefs and other experts will be available at a Demonstration Center where they will show products and foods to help visitors make special treats, or just simple meals, whether they are cooking over a campfire or on the stove.

Food is the star of the event, of course. Among the vendors who will be taking part are Mama Jerk ‘n Tings serving authentic Jamaican dishes; Firewise Barbecue Co., who have a BBQ food truck; Dionigi’s Concessions and Catering; and Elsie’s May’s Canning and Pies with home-made sweets.

The live entertainment lineup includes artists playing everything from rock to jazz to soul, with an appearance by students from the Kenosha Conservatory of Music.

Admission to the Taste of Wisconsin is free, but organizers want to remind attendees that there are numerous other attractions near HarborPark. These include the Dinosaur Discovery Museum, the Civil War Museum, the Kenosha Public Museum, the Kenosha Trolley, the Southport Light Station & Museum, and more. The Taste will run for three days, July 24-26, at HarborPark on Kenosha’s waterfront. Using poster printing, event organizers can create colorful advertising for the event.
