An upcoming event will give youngsters a chance to learn about the night sky.
Space Camp June 2025 will take place at the Heide Observatory for four consecutive nights. The camp, which is not a sleep-over, is for youngsters from ages 10 to 14, and will give them a chance to explore what it is like to be a scientist by building, testing, launching, and making discoveries.
Each night will bring a different activity such as creative problem solving, working collaboratively to solve engineering challenges, performing hands-on experiments, and – if the weather is favorable – viewing the stars through the telescope, which is a PlaneWave CDK17. Science educators will guide the sessions in the setting of the observatory.
The camp will give children the chance to explore some of the questions scientists consider, such as where in the universe earth is located, how rockets work, what kind of effort it takes to make a landing on a different planet, and other subjects designed to intrigue young minds.
Space Camp is scheduled for June 24 through 27, from 7.00 pm until 10.00 pm each night. The Heide Observatory at Hawthorn Hollow is at 880 Green Bay Road. Events like this can be enhanced if organizers use brochure printing to create course handouts such as star maps, information sheets, and notes on experiments.
