Jessie Garcia will appear at Blue House Books to read from her second novel, “The Fair Weather Friend,” sign Copies for purchasers, and answer questions from the audience.
Garcia’s first novel, “The Business Trip,” garnered excellent reviews, including one from Freida McFadden, the bestselling author of psychological thrillers such as “The Housemaid is Watching.” McFadden said:
"The Business Trip was nonstop twists and turns. I loved the unusual way that the story was told . . ."
Garcia’s fast paced writing style uses multiple points of view. “The Fair Weather Friend” is a thriller chronicling the death of Detroit meteorologist Faith Richards, dubbed “The Fair Weather Friend” by her viewers. Richards leaves for her dinner break one night; her body is found the following day. Multiple characters, including her colleagues and fans, try to solve the crime.
Jessie Garcia is the News Director at Milwaukee’s CBS affiliate. She began her career as a reporter/anchor, then moved to newsroom management before becoming director. Her television experience colors her fiction, and she has also written non-fiction Books.
Garcia will be at Blue House Books, 5915 6th Ave A, at 6.30 pm on January 21. Attendees will need to deposit $5 to reserve a seat; the fee can be used on the night of the event for any purchase made in the store.
