Up-and-coming artist visits Kenosha

A star on the rise will appear soon in Kenosha, taking part in the Flannel Fest.

The annual Flannel Fest takes place in the Petrifying Springs Bier Garden, and is a family event featuring competitions, children’s activities, live music, and food trucks. Blue Sky Inflatables will provide bounce houses, and Misfit Flannels, who make custom flannel products, will be on hand. Artists will be there with balloon twisting and face painting, and Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Shows will be part of the fun. These shows, which have been performed for over 30 years at festivals, sports shows, and fairs, include typical lumberjack activities such as axe throwing, log rolling, and more.

Live entertainment this year will include Myles Wangerin, a rising country star. Organizers suggest that catching his show could be the same as hearing Willie Nelson or Eric Church at the start of their careers. Wangerin was 11 when he began playing guitar, and in high school when he started singing. He cites The Eagles, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, James Taylor and others as some of his earliest influences.

30Wst Magazine dubbed him “The Workingman’s Musician,” and he released his debut album, “Wasting Time and Wasting It Well, in 2017. The album comprises entirely original material. Wangerin is based in Wisconsin and consistently appears at events throughout the area.

Flannel Fest is scheduled for October 3 at 3.00 pm. Organizers of events like this can help support them by using poster printing to create suitable advertising.
